I've faced a lot of barriers along my path and it has often been through the kindness of others along the way that some of those barriers have been removed. Thank you so much for your financial support as this is enabling me to continue my studies without financial worry or strain. – Award Recipient

Paul Jeffrey Mesbur
September 16, 1970 – February 20, 2005

The Paul Jeffrey Mesbur Memorial Award was endowed in 2007 by Dr. Ellen Sue Mesbur and Mr. David Mesbur, in loving memory of their son, Paul. Paul was a gifted, award-winning Canadian Chef with a dream to bring the restaurant experience to people’s homes. He was complex, creative and curious about ideas and the world, with a wide range of interests in music, poetry and philosophy. Paul lived his life with compassion and respect for others.

The award is available to full-time or part-time Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work students who have returned to university to pursue a career in Social Work. The award is intended to enable recipients to ease the financial burden of accessing professional education.
