Kyle Pickering (1971-2020) was an adventurer, entrepreneur, orator, and born leader.
Kyle was an adventurer, an entrepreneur, a world traveller and, most of all, a generous and caring person. After graduating from the University of Waterloo, Kyle moved to the UK where he served as commercial manager for Rolls Royce for 16 years. He then moved on to become the First Secretary for the British Embassy in Tokyo. Upon moving back to Hamilton, Ontario, Kyle bought and renovated several century homes.
This award celebrates travel and entrepreneurship, recognizing excellence in leadership for international students enrolled in the Intensive Bridge to Academic Success in English (iBASE) program at Renison University College, affiliated with the University of Waterloo. Selected by their peers and instructors, these outstanding students represent the best qualities of Kyle and will keep his spirit alive.
